چکیده

The objective of this study was focussed on phytochemical screening, in vitro antioxidant and antiprotease activities various solvent extracts Muehlenbeckia platyclada root. roots were washed thoroughly, shade dried coarsely powdered. powdered material successively extracted with hexane, chloroform methanol using soxhlet apparatus. Preliminary screening for carbohydrates, proteins, alkaloids, phytosteroids, flavonoids, glycosides, polyphenolics, saponins, tannins done by following standard procedure. In three assessed DPPH, ABTS total capacity flavonoids estimated aluminum chloride colourimetric assay. anti-protease activity the root evaluated trypsin as enzyme BAEE (N-benzoyl-L-arginine ethyl ester) a substrate. results showed that phytochemicals such which present methanolic extract, absent hexane extract clearly plant has prominent protease inhibiting properties. From work, it can be concluded potential to powerful inhibitor.
